Initial Ideas

The initial idea for my magazine came from the research we did in lessons beforehand. Looking through and analysing various styles of magazines helped me come to the conclusion that I wanted to do a rock or indie style magazine. I find it fitting as that is the style of music that I enjoy listening to, so it will help that I have a bit of background knowledge. From looking at different rock and indie music magazines I have found that rock magazines use a lot of dark colours and indie magazines actually use quite a lot of bright clashing colours. I think I’ll use both, and contrast the two which I think will represent both music genres. I’ve chosen the title ‘Grenade’, as its explosive and I feel this is representative of the music which will be included in the magazine. I want the images to be quite edgy, but not offensive or too extreme. The models I use will have quite punk like make-up and styling, but will be quite well covered up as I want to attract a both male and female audience. I will keep a house theme, but no so each page looks too similar. I will continue with some of the same fonts throughout but change the colours to give each page a different twist or edge.
