Breakdown of Cast, Props, Setting and Location
For the images that I will take to use in my magazine, I have a clear idea of what sort of result I want. I’m going to aim for an edgy, but appropriate look. The model I plan to use I feel has the right look for a rock and indie magazine; very tall and slim with long dark brown hair. For the photos I shall make her hair messy by backcombing it for a tousled effect and using heavy eye make-up for an almost gothic look. As the cover image will be more or less a close up, hair and make-up will be prioritised over styling. I shall find an interesting alternative top which will able to be seen. For the contents page I plan to use multiple medium shots, so I’ll use an indie looking jacket which I feel will be very fitting, and also dress it up with bright accessories to mirror the bright colours used throughout the magazine. I think It will make a good contrast. The middle page spread will be a long shot so I will aim to use a very vintage looking outfit which will appeal to the audience; continuing the use of dramatic make-up and hair throughout the magazine pages. For the front cover and the contents page, the location will be anywhere against a white background. I feel a busy background will be distracting as there will already be a lot going on with both pages as it is. The middle page spread however, I shall take the photos somewhere outside, maybe somewhere a bit run down looking for an edgy twist. I’m considering using a graveyard as this is something associated with rock music.
